Now's your chance to ask an agent how to get published
If you could ask a literary agent just one thing, what would it be? Maybe you want to know how to submit your manuscript? Or perhaps what they are looking for in your cover letter? Well, as luck would have it, now’s your chance.
On Thursday 15th July, Jo Unwin and Lucy Luck* – agents for Desmond Elliott Prize nominated authors Kit de Vaal and Rowan Hisayo Buchanan – will be answering your questions in a live Twitter chat between 7-8 pm.
You can submit your questions to Jo and Lucy right now on Twitter at @DElliottPrize and if you are an aspiring writer, or even a debut author looking to brush up on your industry knowledge, you do not want to miss this opportunity.
Last year, participants got expert advice on everything from how much to edit your manuscript before submitting to the tone of your cover letter and which specific agents to approach – all for free!
The live chat is taking place in support of the Desmond Elliott Prize, which exists to support debut authors – unsurprisingly, we jumped at the chance to get involved here at Riff Raff Towers. We have been interviewing some of the shortlisted nominees and cannot wait to bring you their insights, so stay tuned to The Riff Raff blog and our social media for info on when the interviews will go live.
